Presently serving in Roswell Park Cancer Institute’s Office of Cancer Health Disparities Research as its Community Relations Coordinator, in 2008 Terry was asked by the Office’s director to work with her community health educator to identify and recruit local men who represented various underserved communities in Western New York to serve as part of a focus group for one of the Institute’s prominent urologists and researchers who was looking to design a prostate cancer educational tool for local populations. The group of men recruited for this purpose ultimately became the MANUP Buffalo organization. From 2000-2008, Terry served as Coordinator for the Erie-Niagara Tobacco-Free Coalition, whose duties included community mobilization, media affairs, grant-writing and smoke-free environments advocacy. Terry is listed as a contributor to over 20-puiblished scientific articles in prominent medical and research journals and publications across the United States/world. As the main facilitator of MANUP Buffalo on behalf of Roswell Park and the Office of Disparities, Terry continues to provide guidance and/or support whenever necessary or called upon to do so. Terry is also the main facilitator of MANUP Buffalo’s signature event: Cruisin’ for a Cure Buffalo Car Show and Prostate Screening event, which occurs on the campus of Roswell Park annually.
